What is Alzheimer’s Disease?

Alzheimer’s Disease is a condition that causes dementia which has severe symptoms of memory loss and the deterioration of other brain functions.  It is a progressive disease whose effects on the brain worsen over time.

How many people does Alzheimer’s affect?

According to the Alzheimer’s Association, over 5 million Americans suffer from Alzheimer’s and the disease is the 6th leading cause of death in the US. 

What is currently being done to find a cure?

There are many researchers that are taking steps towards finding a cure.  There are clinical trials as well as brain analysis that are being performed in order to get us closer to eradicating Alzheimer’s Disease.
